ABOUT ME
My name is Jada Singletary, and I was born in Jackson Mississippi to Fredrica Sandifer and Larry Singletary, Jr. I have one sibling on my dad’s side named Abree Simmon Washington, and she is 3 years old. I currently attend Middle School, and I am in the 7th grade. I take theatre classes at my performing arts school. I enjoy being in a high academic achiever because it gets me ready for life and college. Sometimes things get a little hard, but I manage to push my way through. I have been in pageants since I was 4 years old.
About My
Platform
I chose bullying prevention because I personally don’t like bullying at all. Bullying is so common now in this society. People are constantly being bullied on the internet, verbally and physically. Bullying can also be fat-shaming. Fat-shaming is now common on the internet because we live in a world where people have to live by certain standards, and if you are not living by those standards, then you are no longer accepted. Most of society feels that you have to be skinny with a nice body, go to the gym, and you can’t have belly fat. It’s unacceptable how society treats plus-size people.
Most of the time bullying can lead to being suicidal or wanting to harm oneself or wanting to harm others. Schools are the most common places for bullying. School bullying is very serious, and we need to take action. Sometimes, children don’t like to talk about things because they feel like they will be judged so they keep a lot of things in and don’t talk about them. Sooner or later, they will start to fall into depression and will have these suicidal thoughts. Sometimes parents wonder why their kids are acting differently. As a parent, if you see these things or notice anything different, then don’t wait to get your child some help. Bullying can happen to anybody at anytime or anywhere. That is why we have to be confident in ourselves and hold our heads up high. We have to take pride in our bodies and love ourselves for who we are and not care what others think. We are the generation that can lead us to positive change, so we have to keep our heads up high and walk boldly and proudly into the future. WE ARE THE FUTURE!
